The Big Picture.

This help file was created entirely by using PBXmlDoc. It gives you a good idea of what is possible with PBXmlDoc not only for PowerBuilder Project documentation but even for gneral help authoring.

A help/documentation system is made up of several different files and components that you create automaticcaly using PBXmlDoc (scans source “pbl” files) and using your preferred image and HTML editor. Some of the files contain the text, graphics, and other elements that appear in your help topics. PBXmlDoc combines those files building Help files in HTML (Web site) or CHM format.

These are the most common types of files contained in a PBXmlDoc project:

• PBL files, which will be scanned and analyzed by PBXmlDoc.
• HTML files, which will be added directly to the output in Web site or CHM form.
• Graphics and multimedia files, which contain links to graphic, sound, video, animation, and other multimedia files.

Start your design by deciding how your help system will be delivered and who your audience is. Then create plans for how to organize and present your help system. GO
